Hobros Speciality Himalayan Salts each win a 1-Star Award from the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards 2020
At the delayed (Co-Vid) Great Taste Awards 2020, our three seasoning mixes in the Speciality Himalayan Salts range, each received a 1-Star Award!
Our Speciality Himalayan Salts represent a natural, one-stop seasoning solution for a range of cooking needs, all using Himalayan Pink Salt combined with specific dried herbs and spices, without the addition of any preservatives, chemicals or additional flavour enhancers.
Umami Porcini tasting notes included comments such as, "the deeply umami aroma of dark, flavourful mushrooms and green celery smells really delicious and inviting" as well as "the mix is a clever one, a set of complementary aromatics."
Lemony Herb attracted comments such as, "a zesty-scented herbaceous salt mix with a grassy colour. This product was sampled as a marinade on unflavoured tofu, and grilled. The finished taste was light and citrussy, with mellow herbal notes", "a subtle product, and best used to add a light kick to bland foods" and "the overall delivery of flavour in the cooked dish was vibrant and pleasing, and the lowish proportion of salt to herb means that it's possible to add more if a stronger herbal note is called for without any danger of over-salting. A well constructed product."
Smokey Spanish has a "very fine powdery appearance with a mild smokey aroma. The saltiness is the first thing tasted but the impact is mild; and then the heat starts to build with the various elements including pepper, paprika and finally a sharp clean garlic finish", "a good product to sell alongside meats in butchers, farm shops and to promote to chefs", "a little jar that packs a big punch! A delicious blend of spices and salt, this is seasoning taken to the next level.
